Participate in planning and implementation of maintenance and construction programs for the Track Department. Plan all construction phases for the installation of new track infrastructure. Coordinate maintenance and construction projects with other departments and agencies. Coordinate and schedule all work activities for major track outages in conjunction with various departments including communication & signals, track, structures, and transportation, to accomplish and adhere to established work schedules Ensure regulatory inspections are compliant with Amtrak policies and the FRA CFR.
Comply with FRA, local, and national codes for construction and maintenance of bridges and track infrastructure. Monitor procurement status of all material and ensured proper installation of material. Ensure the proper delivery, storage, and installation of materials as well as the performance of any contracted services. Communicate with the system design office and provide technical support in the field for all maintenance and construction activities. Remain available 24/7 to respond to emergencies and interruptions to the operations.
Support planned work on weekends and nights in the field. Schedule technical training, safety training, safety compliance training, and physical exams for all direct reports. The EGSE test sets are used to checkout, integrate, and operate Flight hardware during ground test. These test sets provide power, control, telemetry, safety interlocking and cooling. This candidate will be part of a small EGSE Design Team supporting several programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Panel & cable design, electrical interconnects & schematics, developing acceptance criteria & certification procedures, and hardware checkout/troubleshooting. Root cause determination, problem resolution and documentation are expected. Required Qualifications BS, MS, Ph D in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Material Science with a minimum of five years’ experience in a Manufacturing role with particular emphasis on the large volume production of catalysts, zeolites, or industries with similar unit operations. An established and well-respected technology leader with the proven ability to form strong working relationships across manufacturing sites. Strong background in chemistry and engineering fundamentals.
Candidate must be able to apply fundamental engineering concepts to develop robust technical solutions for implementation in commercial manufacturing operation.
