The incumbent's greatest challenge entails replacing critical signs that are knocked down in an expeditious manner so that the department avoids a potential liability situation.
A typical problem for this position entails prioritizing signing and striping activities to meet available funds yet ensures for the safety and well-being of the motoring public. The incumbent directs and evaluates the effectiveness of the day to day activities of the Traffic Operations Section as well as oversees the scheduling of the sign shop to ensure the signing needs and inventory needs of the district are met. This position schedules and supervises the maintenance of traffic highway sign structures.
