Job Requirements Working knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, and manifolds, Trained in hydraulic design of Centrifugal or Turbine pumps, Component and assembly design skills, Working knowledge of Casting and Machining processes, 3D Solid Modeling skills, Technical Drawing and Dimensioning skills, Geometric Tolerancing and dimensioning skills,
2D Auto CAD Software (or equivalent), IDEAS / Siemens NX 3D Software, Pattern and Mold design skills, Blueprint reading, Use of measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.
), MS Office, MS Project, Working knowledge of Engineering Change Systems, Working knowledge of Bills of Material, Drawing archiving and distribution (electronic and paper), ability to successfully interface with Draftsmen, Test Technicians, Vendors, and shop personnel. Technical Requirements Ability to develop project timelines, schedule tasks, track scheduled tasks, and analyze costs. Ability to perform Engineering analysis & calculations, visualize & apply complex geometry, apply drawing practices, and apply
manufacturing practices. Technical writing skills. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Responsibilities All functions of an Engineer plus the following: Develop Project Plans and Track Project Progress.
Procure components and materials for development projects. Report status of assigned projects and note potential problems at Design Review meetings. Make certain new product passes validation and verification tests. Procure or create hydraulic designs for pumps. Enter new item numbers in MRP. Enter new Bills of Material for new product in MRP. Release new products for production when approved. Perform Engineering Change functions and maintain Engineering Change database.
Process requests for Engineering Deviations. Maintain part number database Secondary Responsibilities Perform Engineer, 2D Draftsman, 3D Draftsman, Part Designer, and Product Test Technician duties as required Assist other departments with technical matters Provides feedback on 2D & 3D CAD and CAM software needs All other duties as assigned REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSProduct/Project Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager
