of microstructure evolution during materials processing. Essential Functions Apply techniques for quantitative microstructure characterization to iron-based alloys given different heat treatments.
Synthesize metal specimens using vacuum arc melting. Assist with setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment. Participate in weekly meetings and prepare presentation materials communicating research results. Contribute to guiding graduate students in characterization and analysis of metallic specimens in multiple alloy systems. Assist with experiments involving surface modifications on metallic specimens using laser shock peening, oxidation behavior, and thermophysical property characterization.
Write code in Python and Matlab for analyzing data. Perform related duties based on departmental need.
