Job Overview The Complex Fluids and Multiphase Transport Lab at the University of Cincinnati is looking for a well-qualified postdoctoral research associate in the area of experimental heat transfer and interfacial phenomena.
The lab conducts research to advance fundamental thermal-fluid, interface, and data sciences, and apply them to enable efficient energy conversion and storage systems, sustainable manufacturing, and effective thermal management solutions.
The initial appointment is for one year with the potential to be extended to the second year based on mutual agreement. Essential Functions The candidate will: Work in a convergent team environment to conduct two-phase heat transfer and interfacial flow experiments. Collaborate with modeling experts. Mentor graduate students. Required Education Applicants should have a Ph. D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering and possess excellent
communication skills. Required Experience Prior experience in the following areas is expected: Phase change heat transfer.
Multiphase flows and interfacial instabilities. Advanced imaging techniques (e. g. high-speed interferometry, particle image velocimetry). Thermal-fluid systems design and fabrication. Additional Qualifications Considered Prior experience in advanced imaging techniques and scaling analysis. Possess excellent communication skills.
