Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly. Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to meet schedule dates. Coordinates with client representatives as delegated to obtain their approval on phases of work. Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations, including field and design documents relating to the discipline.
Coordinates assigned engineering work with other project groups. Ensures that engineers and scientists supervised receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development. Promotes the creation of a work environment, supported by leadership, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction. Qualifications and Skills: Basic Qualifications: 10+ years of experience delivering basic and detailed design, construction, and project coordination of High-Tech/Semiconductor facility Engineering Technology Systems (Fire Alarm, TGMS).
5-10 years combined Engineering and Construction Team leadership. Preferred NICET Level II or III Fire Alarm System Certification. Experience in an Engineering office or consultancy to the High-Tech Industry – especially Semiconductors. Candidate will be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and local practices. Additional Qualifications: Knowledge in use of industry standard software (CAD, REVIT, Navisworks, Xtralis, Microsoft Suites) is desirable. Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management.
Possesses strong applicable experience in project design/execution with previous demonstrated experience and ability in the specific discipline. Prior work experience for the supervision of an engineering discipline on a project. Prior work experience being responsible for the engineering progress and performance reporting within a project earned value management system and change management program. Strong directional leadership, people management, teamwork, and communication skills. Is a self-motivated individual with the ability to influence without being authoritative. Ability to provide strong, active technical leadership to follow and enforce a consistent approach.
Effective problem solver including resolving conflict between personnel and activities. Has the ability to manage priorities and evolving responsibilities. Possesses excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, mentoring, and knowledge transfer skills. Ability to develop, guide, train, and transfer knowledge within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences.
