Position Summary This position is for an Senior Engineer for the mechanical hardness group who will prepare and execute a robust analytical approach to designing new structures and evaluating existing structures with new retrofits to survive various levels of extreme blast events. Participates in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data by other engineers or by suppliers. Perform calculations to determine blast loading environments. Perform nonlinear, dynamic analysis of building structures using single degree of freedom, multi degree of freedom, and finite element analysis methodologies for dynamic blast loadings. Perform nonlinear, dynamic analyses of building structures using ABAQUS and other commercially available software. Transfer design information from calculations to structural design drawings/models. Draft reports and memorandums to communicate technical design information.
Coordinate requirements and design information with other client, customer, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. Review shop drawings, calculations, and RFIs related to design items during construction. Review vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution. Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product. Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team to ensure cohesiveness and quality. Qualifications and Skills Basic Qualifications Level 1 : BS degree in Engineering (Structural or related), from an accredited university, with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
Level 2 : BS degree in Engineering (Structural or related), from an accredited university, with at least 13 years of relevant experience.
