Typical tasking of this role may include: Reviewing engineering drawings (GD&T), process documents and specifications Generating manufacturing flows to build and test hardware that is compliant with engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements documents Generating manufacturing work instructions and test procedures that adhere to processes, engineering and quality requirements Generating and maintaining MBOMs Creating and maintaining work orders from master process plans through plan closure Defining tooling requirements and coordinating the fabrication of tooling Conducting manufacturing readiness reviews and design reviews Providing support to the production floor during fabrication and assembly phases Enabling feedback loop with engineering definition for producibility, affordability, and incorporation of lessons learned Participation in project management, manufacturing scheduling and/or earned value management for program or functional initiatives Performing IMS and/or production scheduling and forecasting Conducting SAP transactions associated with parts procurement and demand loading The selected candidate must possess strong communication and technical writing skills, as well as an ability and desire to learn and problem solve.

Primary Purpose We have an immediate opening for an R&D Team Leader Application Engineering. As member of the North America R&D Team, this role will coordinate day to day activities related to product and installation process innovation working projects through the Hardie Innovation Phase-Gate System from Scoping to Deployment. This includes activities related to, but not limited to, market feedback, product development, process development, working with vendors, field validation, field (jobsite) scale-up, commercialization
testing and regulatory compliance. From scoping to deployment - the role is to manage workstreams, execute key tasks listed in the project timelines and monitor the output of all key deliverables.
The successful candidate will plan and implement specified and collaborative projects, particularly new product development projects, and keep them on schedule from start to completion date. This role will be based in Fontana CA reporting to the R&D Application Engineering Manager. Projects will occur across North America and therefore require up to 50% travel. What You’ll Do: Position Responsibilities Project Leadership: Coordinate and develop workstreams for projects, delegate work amongst team members to ensure delivery of project tasks and key project milestones.
Drive cross functional alignment, ensure that regular meetings and updates are held for projects, including all relevant stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external vendors and service providers Communicate Team progress accurately to Technical and Business leaders New Product Innovation: Through customer ethnography drive installation (and channel) pain points into the PD team Capture the voice of the installer and then work to design systems, support, and accessories based on the learning Capture market trends in systems, functions, and building science – use this to feed new product design and system design Drive development of Installation Instructions, Best Practice Manuals, and Technical Briefs Drive development of training content to support Train the trainer, internal Segment Installation Training Partner with Technical Sales Team to assist with sales tools development, create and publish Installation videos and animations Partner with Technical Sales Group to perform product demonstrations as needed to support test selling Installation Process Innovation: Develop and manage projects to study and understand product installation costs Use lean manufacturing principles and methodologies for job site process improvement Use data analysis to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact of lean practices on the installation process.
Leverage technology, software, and tools to enhance lean practices and data collection.
