Key Responsibilities Oversee technical aspects of engineering design work in a large range of fields Schedule and forecast timelines for design projects and production Estimate and write quotes for design and production work Track and document time spent on client projects Budget management for projects Fabricate, assemble,
and test CAD designs to ensure functionality as real products Frequent use of power tools, including drill press, circular saw, and sawzall Create and conduct presentations on projects, data, test results, and departmental objectives to customers, management, and engineering team at regular intervals Working in close collaboration with Sales, 3D Printing, and the technical team at Avid’s parent company, Lubrizol on the further development and improvement of 3D printed materials and processes Creating and regularly monitoring quality assurance checks for 3D Printing at Avid Driving Avid to stay at the cutting edge of engineering for additive manufacturing Assist newer team members Required Skills & Experiences: Bachelor's degree in engineering Minimum 3 years of industry experience in mechanical engineering with an emphasis in designing for additive manufacturing.
Intermediate to advanced experience in fabrication, assembly and testing skills to take designs from CAD and ensure they will work as real products Advanced knowledge of Solidworks CAD software and Solidworks PDM workflow Experience with additive design software, specifically n Topology Experience working with a variety of print technologies including MJF, FFF and resin Strong critical thinking, verbal and written communication, time management, extensive customer relationship management, and interpersonal skills Excellent problem solver who must closely collaborate with the rest of the engineering team daily Ability to work well alone.
Self starter, and self directed.
