D. programs seeking a visionary leader to grow our national and international footprint in engineering education research.
Since 2007, the Department has administered the first-year engineering course sequence, which is focused on developing students in various areas, including design thinking, algorithmic thinking, and professional skills.
We aim to expand our graduate program to be a distinct element of the engineering education ecosystem by immersing students in rigorous methodological training and leveraging the University of Cincinnati’s history of cooperative education to provide experiential learning opportunities within and outside academia. Our graduate program prepares students to conduct state-of-the-art educational research in engineering and bridge research to practice by defining effective practices,
identifying the reasons why they work, developing curricula, backssing how students learn, and moving those findings into future engineering classrooms.
Our undergraduate contributions to the College also necessitate a nimble leader that can successfully integrate emerging educational technologies into the curriculum and collaborate with other departments to ensure students are well-positioned for upper-division courses and co-op rotations. Fellow to join the Global Health (GH) Fellowship program. The GH Fellowship Program is a one or two-year post-residency family medicine fellowship designed for physicians interested in caring for underserved/vulnerable populations while strengthening clinical and scholarly skills in global health.
This fellowship includes the option for tuition remission for the completion of a Master of Public Health (MPH) in global health. Fellows will deepen their competencies in the following six areas of Global & Underserved Health: 1) Describe and address the determinants of health as a foundation in global and underserved health; 2) Interpret health in the context of the principles of community and population health; 3) Provide high quality care in low resource settings and for vulnerable populations; 4) Demonstrate effective communication and cultural humility in patient, team, and community relationships; 5) Advocate effectively on an individual, local, and national level within the context of global health ethics; 6) Apply the attitudes and skills of sustainable servant-leadership in multiple healthcare settings including interdisciplinary teams.
Essential Functions Clinical Care: Provide primary care for underserved and immigrant/refugee patients for approximately 20+hrs/week at a City of Cincinnati Primary Care location.
Partner Capacity Building: Work with one of our low- or middle-income country (LMIC) international partners to improve their healthcare mission through a four-week program onsite at the partner location. Academic Leadership: Contribute to the academic mission of the Global and Underserved Health Division by teaching residents and medical students. Minimum Requirements Medical Degree (MD or DO). Licensure by the State of Ohio Medical Board. Completion of a U. S. ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency in good standing.
American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) Board Certified. Foundational knowledge in global health, such as the completion of a 1-month medical school course or residency rotation. Prepare reports, disseminate/interpret information, write/co-develop proposals, deliver presentations, and ensure that programs and services, related with inclusive excellence activities/programs, comply with university, state, and federal regulations. Faculty and Staff related: Recommend and/or develop and implement professional development programming for staff and faculty on inclusive practices.
Assist faculty with strategies and training to expand DEIJ in their courses. Student related: Coordinate student facing events (with DAAP Student Affairs) and co-curricular programs related to inclusion. Essential Functions Continued Community (UC and beyond) facing: Act as a liaison for the College with internal departments, external entities, and community organizations.
