daily inspection of construction activities. Communicating with clients, contractors, designers and other project stakeholders. Measuring and tracking of pay quantities.
Completing daily inspection reports, contract change orders, and contractor pay estimates. Making determinations on extra work and pricing. Chairing biweekly project progress meetings. Overseeing materials testing in the field. Developing record plans. Daily reviewing of Maintenance and Protection of Traffic. Recommending approval of completed work. Maintaining organized project construction and material records. Properly maintaining Force Account documentation. Supervising other inspectors doing the above work to meet
the needs of the project and client. What You Bring to the Table: Current NICET Level III or IV certification or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience with construction inspection and daily report writing preferred.
Experience with NYSDOT standard specifications, standard contract provisions, and MURK documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams. OSHA 10-hour training. Experience with Infotech Appia and Doc Express is a plus. Strong communication skills.
Direct Plant Support (50%) Supports continuous improvement efforts related to reliability, technical excellence, fixed cost reductions, variable cost reductions and plant OAU Collects data, including data not readily available, identifies improvement strategies and tracks key performance indicators for variable cost improvement and waste reduction projects.
Prepares and executes Management of Change documentation; develops associated training documents and plans. Contributes to managing plant assets, expense projects and asset utilization initiatives. Works with Operations department to identify and evaluate improvement opportunities. Technical Support (30%) Provides technical plant support
in specialized areas including modeling, risk analysis, process chemistry and process technology Lead/Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews for projects & processes.
Prepares and updates process safety information and other process documents. Manages incident investigations, Root Cause Analysis and develops effective corrective actions as appropriate Manages installation, operation and performance qualifications (IQOQPQ) for GMP processes. Partners with Quality on validation of GMP processes. Project Work (20%) Manages assigned capital projects, budgets and project records. Develops early stage project technical and engineering ASAP deliverables including
PFDs, mass and energy balances, layout, cost estimates, engineering feasibility and bid packages.
Identify technology gaps, improvement opportunities and potential liabilities of plant for future project planning. Leads and interacts with internal/external technical resources as needed to complete projects. Lead project commissioning and start up activities for process changes and new technology. Support plant reliability projects. Context and Environment: Supports the site HESQ policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e. g. Behavioral Base Safety, Safe Start, etc.
) Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents Required Education/Qualifications/Work Experience: BS in Chemical engineering and 7+ years manufacturing experience Six sigma certification and/or experience in Lean Six Sigma Operational Excellence implementation preferred Experience in Process Hazard Analysis using LOPA Technique Accident and Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis Advanced MS Office Skills; SAP experience desired. Demonstrated Competencies: Excellent communications and organizational skills Proven ability to innovate and improve upon existing practices and technology.
