We are excited to set a new standard for health and wellness in Lenawee County. Drawing blood is an essential part of the medical diagnosis and requires coordination, organization, and multitasking. The Phlebotomist collects products or specimens for basic procedures, such as: analytical testing of glucose, perform procedures, such as: bleeding times, sweat chlorides, D-Xylose tolerance and point-of-care testing
using proper techniques and performs and documents quality control procedures utilizing laboratory computer information system. They follow strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis & assist in the care of the patient prior to, during and after specimen collection.
They are knowledgeable of pre-analytic variables, which may affect specimen analysis and are familiar with test synonyms and abbreviations, and cross-referencing tests to specimen types. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. A diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute OR one year phlebotomy experience. Professional registration preferred. Six months' experience in a high volume phlebotomy environment,
or successful completion of an academic program which included substantial, practical clinical phlebotomy experience (EX: 8+ week clinical student rotation program in a hospital setting) Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.

Schedules individuals new to services within the appropriate time frames as set by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Contract. Manages the Centralized Scheduling phone line and email. Schedules consumer appointments for psychiatric, medical, and clinical services. Backfills appointments when there is appointment
availability. Sets up clinical staff schedules in Life Ways' electronic medical record system (LEO) and makes all modifications and changes necessary to ensure accurate availability, including PTO, meetings, court, and other non-patient appointments.
Provides additional support functions including but not limited to: copy, scan, shred, file, and other duties as assigned. Available to work during hours of operations as scheduled by supervisor; may include holidays, evenings, and weekends. Responsible for adherence to all Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) standards.
