Major Position Responsibilities Responsible for the structural design and analysis of a 28 GHz ECR magnet, utilizing Nb3Sn technology for the next generation of ECR magnets. Due to Nb3Sn wire sensitivity to stress and strain, optimizing the structure of this magnet type is crucial. Provide conceptual structural designs for superconducting quad and dipole magnets, using Nb Ti, Nb 3 Sn, and HTS technology, specifically for beam line magnets.
Participate in the structural design of the FRIB 644 MHz upgrade cryomodule. Perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) analysis to ensure the cryogenic vessel complies with the ASME pressure vessel and piping code. Conduct thermal analysis for superconducting devices. Develop procedures for assembling and testing superconducting magnets. Write design reports, work control plans, and technical specification documents.
