Leads the design and architecture of Costco's Global network, ensuring it is highly available and scalable. Evaluates and recommends network technologies, hardware, and software solutions. Leads the program related to automation initiatives for Networking services. Ensures network designs adhere to industry best practices and standards. Ensures network stability and performance of Costco's enterprise network. Stays current with emerging networking trends & technologies and make recommendations for adoption.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex network issues to minimize downtime. Establishes and enforces network security policies and procedures to safeguard against cybersecurity threats and ensure compliance with regulations. Works closely with the Information Security team to ensure security policies and best practices are enforced in an effective and scalable manner. Participates in design reviews and assists in the development of network and IT standards. Collaborates with vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to procure network equipment, services, and solutions.
Assists in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality Liaises with internal stakeholders to understand and address network requirements. Maintains detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and runbooks. Generates and presents reports on network performance, incidents, and compliance to senior leadership. Monitors network traffic and performance to identify capacity needs and plan for scalability. Recommends infrastructure upgrades to support business growth and evolving technology requirements.
Assists in developing & executing plans for technical debt cleanup. REQUIRED 15+ years' extensive network architecture and engineering experience. 5+ years' experience in a leadership role. Deep understanding of enterprise network design, including data center, campus, manufacturing, retail and global WAN connectivity. Experience with provisioning and managing large scale networks using network automation. Demonstrated ability to take ownership and responsibility of critical issues and conclude them to resolution. Advanced knowledge of network security and modern next generation firewall platforms.
Strong knowledge of network and infrastructure observability and monitoring solutions. Experience with one or more of the following: Python, Ansible, Terraform. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proven experience in project management. Familiarity with cloud networking, virtualization, and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts. Possess in-depth knowledge of wireless local area networks and past deployment experience. Strong understanding of 802.11 wireless network standards, PKI systems, and WIPS.
Familiarity with compliance requirements such as SOX, PCI DSS, SWIFT, and HIPAARecommended Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
