Patrol Level 3 is an assistant to Bike Patrol Supervisor. The Level 3 ensures a safe and fun trail riding experience for summer mountain guests by responding to emergencies, providing medical treatment, documentation, rope coordinating, and by monitoring trail systems to ensure a safe guest experience.
Bike Patrol Level 2, $18.00/Hour The Bike Patrol Level 2 ensures a safe and fun trail riding experience for summer mountain guests; while providing necessary emergency response, medical treatment, inventory, documentation, rope coordinating, and trail system guidance. Patroller Level 2 also leads training less experienced patrollers, determines closures, and conducts accident investigations.

Patroller Level 1 also assists in training less experienced patrollers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other
duties may be assigned. Administer first aid and transport injured guests at Sundance Mountain Resort emphasizing their safety is our concern.
Possess working knowledge of patient packaging and transport via wheeled stokes and ranger. Comply with helicopter protocols and locations of landing zones. Learn and carry out opening rounds and closing rounds, demonstrate understanding of all mountain operations. Understand lift evacuation procedures and location of lift evacuation equipment standards. Familiar with area plan for placement and performs daily maintenance of trail signs, ropes, fences, bridges, and features. Demonstrate familiarity with operating telephone system.
Fill out accident reports completely, correctly, and legibly. Gather supplemental information for accident investigation in a timely manner. Provide assistance and advice to guests in a friendly manner while being helpful and courteous to fellow workers and guests. Remain calm and uses tact in dealing with emergencies, violations, and unusual circumstances. Is familiar with area's summer policies and procedures and updates knowledge each year as necessary. Leads mountain operations, agencies and departments in any medical or evacuation emergency. Knows the biker, hiker, and lift responsibility code and uses to advise guests of the established rules.
Provide a reasonably safe mountain experience for guests by warning or removing guests whose conduct is reckless and a danger to themselves or others. Inspect all patrol equipment to ensure it is in good working order and meets safety standards. Is an example of safe recreation and mountain activities practices at all times. Ride bike proficiently on single track, mountainous terrain. Utilize basic bike repair skills. Help assist in steep angle rescue and hike in steep, rocky terrain proficiently. Work outside in the sun for extended periods of time.
Use heavy tools such as picks, shovels, weed eaters, chainsaws etc. following safe practices and full use of PPE. Assist in building and maintaining biking and hiking trails. Support the on-mountain recycling program. Guide guests on designated guided hike routes. Operate lift when needed for loading and unloading of guests. Patrol trails to ensure a safe riding environment and educate guests on trial network in a professional and positive manner. Motivate and uplift fellow employees to ensure a positive productive environment for co-workers. Communicate via and operates hand held radio device.
