Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), receive, create, assign, and manage through the lifecycle of the work order. Reconcile and process maintenance invoicing in accounting platforms daily. Ensure proper cost coding in accordance with department procedures. Schedule and track Preventative Maintenance (PM) and service work to technicians, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure services are properly completed in accordance with contracts, service level agreements, and work orders. Provide daily status reports on all open and closed work orders. Check status with the appropriate technicians, subcontractors, or vendors, and provide quality assurance of work performed.
Maintain files on work orders, proposals, service level agreements and department files. Create vendor files and check accuracy of completed paperwork submitted by technicians, subcontractors, and vendors. Perform facility inspections to ensure facility is operated safely, assist management with annual fiscal planning, and monitor the health of assets. Ensure deficiencies are communicated to management. Assist in resolving problems associated with all building services, including, but not limited to: HVAC, janitorial, parking, interior and exterior furnishings, fixtures, and equipment, as assigned.
Maintain corporate fleet vehicles, schedule and track maintenance, cleanliness, and repair for all vehicles. Train subcontractors and vendors on Sound Credit Union's work order and billing procedures. Maintain existing layout conditions (" as built" ) for each department and branch. Maintain up-to-date square footage allocation chart for each department and branch. Prepare project cost estimates and implementation schedules. Conduct regular price comparisons to ensure reasonableness of costs.

WA or Beech Grove, IN SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Senior Maintenance Engineer develops maintenance procedures, methods, and engineering specifications necessary for the maintenance of locomotive equipment.
The Sr. Maintenance Engineer applies electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and related theory to diagnose, test and solve advanced technical problems for onboard equipment. The Sr. Maintenance Engineer will take direction from the Sr. Mgr. Equipment Engineering and lead projects and processes to implement and improve the safety, compliance, quality, reliability, and maintainability of equipment across the Amtrak system. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide advanced field and technical
assistance to terminals and maintenance facilities Trends failure analyses and delay metrics for management on equipment reliability and service issues and makes recommendations to address as necessary; works with the Mechanical Operations team for equipment availability.
Responsible for developing and/or improving maintenance procedures and work practices to increase equipment reliability and to modify the maintenance plans in the asset management system Support authorizing component upgrades, updates and replacements, including qualifying vendors and products with engineering documentation and drawings reviews as necessary. Develop and review technical specifications and procedures for equipment and systems for both Amtrak and state rolling stock equipment.
Designs and implements Condition Based Monitoring programs and practices. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BS degree in an engineering discipline or BS degree and engineering work experience. Demonstrated Root Cause Analysis or other problem solving training and experience. Demonstrated experience in transportation, aeronautical, or heavy equipment engineering. Demonstrated practical experience modifying and maintaining existing vehicles or long-lived, complex, capital equipment in an industrial, railroad or marine environment.
Experience in working effectively with agreement and non-agreement employees. Must have experience in using VOM’s, data loggers, oscilloscopes and AAR or measuring gages; Must be proficient and possess experience in technical writing, spreadsheet and database manipulation. Knowledgeable in CAD software. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to work directly on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components onboard the rolling stock in a Maintenance Shop environment. Ability to create bills of materials, presentations, reports, troubleshooting guides and other formal documentation with little assistance.
Proficiency with computer programs used to troubleshoot, analyze, track, trend and record failures of microprocessor based systems. Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations, signal rules, electric traction, NORAC and equivalent rules related to train operations and physical features of the right of way Knowledge of accepted industry quality standards and the ISO quality procedure. Excellent written, oral and public speaking communication skills. Knowledgeable in areas of North American railway safety and regulatory practices including, but not limited to the Code of Federal Regulations, AAR, and APTA PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 6 or more years of experience Registered Professional Engineer Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Supervisory or Team Manager experience Member of AAR, APTA, IEEE, ASME, SAE, ASHRAE, or similar technical committees Experience working with Tier I or Tier II Passenger Equipment Demonstrated Project Management experience.

The salary/hourly range is $94,830 - $122,900, Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary.
