The Metallographer will be responsible for applying criteria expressed in material and process specifications to the evaluation of suitably prepared metallurgical specimens and generate reports. This position will assist int he coordination of workflow through the department and schedule to meet client needs, provide guidance and feedback to metallographic preparations technicians assist with specimen preparations as required from time to time, and conduct various corrosion susceptibility tests.
The ideal candidate will interact with clients periodically to review work instructions and evaluation results and perform other duties as may be
required from time to time. Requirements: Associate degree or two years of post-high school studies in a relevant technical field. Minimum 3 years in a materials laboratory setting or materials-related field.
Aerospace industry experience is strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret detailed technical specifications and drawings. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent English communication skills including correct basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Keyboarding proficiency (40 wpm preferred).
