A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ENGINEER / CAD DRAFTER In this engineering position for our architectural woodworking company, you play a critical role in drafting and generating CAD shop drawings and millwork details. You thoroughly examine and interpret architectural and interior designs from drawings, construction blueprints, and supplemental documentation. After reviewing all materials, you submit drawings, prepare a material list, specify the necessary hardware you need, and assemble information for the fabrication and installation teams.
You also work closely with the production team to provide input on the best methods of construction and give general engineering clarification as needed. In addition, you revise documentation and field dimensions when requested by customers. Using your computer software skills, you build and maintain a product library and catalog as well as create new blocks and sections in Auto CAD. You consistently maintain a high level of productivity and professional service, which makes you a reliable member of our team.
