uams. edu/). The applicant will work in the National Resource team to process user samples and maintain operational equipment. Duties will include maintenance of equipment within the resource (mass spectrometers and liquid chromatography systems), preparation of samples for processing, conducting quality control procedures on all instrumentation, assisting in the development of new workflows to be implemented in the resource, and performing experiments as requested by resource leadership.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; including significant project management experience, personnel supervision, and editorial and scientific contributions to grants required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of protein purification and/or preparation, western blot, immunoprecipitation, cell culture, and other molecular biology techniques. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to maintain and use literature databases. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Thermo Orbitrap mass spectrometers. Postdoctoral fellowship experience preferred. Ability to use proteomics database software such as Scaffold, Skyline, or similar software packages. Managing service contracts and scheduling non-routine maintenance with instrument manufacturers. Coordinating instrument use efficiently among multiple research projects.
