in order to meet program objectives. Coordinates and directs the field staff in order to complete cold water fisheries research and management work plans.
Reviews research data as presented by subordinates for accuracy and applicability to the cold-water fisheries research and management programs. Analyzes and makes recommendations on the scientific merit of research data in order to meet Departmental objectives. Maintains an inventory of all equipment and supplies necessary to carry out cold water fisheries research and management programs for use in preparing budgets and ordering equipment and supplies. Communicates within the Department, to other agencies, as well as to the general
public, with regards to cold water fisheries research and management matters.
Prepares scientific reports on results of cold-water fisheries research and management programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in biology, wildlife or fisheries management, or a related biological science. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience. Experience: Two years' experience in work at a professional level in wildlife, fisheries, or aquatic biology, or research management. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education at the graduate level only.
License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver’s license. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the agency. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: AFS Certified Associate Fisheries Professional preferred. What Youll Do: Performs qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using various analyzers and/or manual methods on specimen sources such as blood, urine, and other body fluids using established procedures Efficiently and accurately reports clinical results within prescribed time frame Demonstrates and maintains clinical laboratory technical knowledge Monitors, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, and maintains instrumentation in assigned area Identifies, documents, and takes
corrective actions whenever test systems are outside designated parameters Who You Are: Bachelors in MLS/Medical Technology preferred.
Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or BS in related science such as Biology or Chemistry required.
ASCP or AMT registry, or equivalent preferred. Exam eligible required. Internship in an approved CLSI program or one 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
