the position, the Director of Donor Relations is expected to work closely with other CDUSA development professionals. The Director of Donor Relations reports to the Arizona Director of Development or their designee and is fully expected to work within the goals, aims, operating procedures, and philosophy of the CDUSA to support Youth Ranches on a national scale.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties and responsibilities are given as examples of the various types of work performed in this position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. 1. Cultivates relationships with donors/prospects to secure documented philanthropic support with a focus on current major
and/or planned gifts through the identification, cultivation and solicitation of prospects/donors with this capability. This includes presenting proposals, bringing gifts to conclusion and providing stewardship to the donors after the gift is made.
2. Provides recognition to donors by presenting plaques, stars, certificates, pins or other awards; facilitates donor recognition event(s) as directed and answers any questions they may have about CDUSA Youth Ranch Development Programs, our services, policies, etc. 3. Present the CDUSA focus on Youth Ranch Development Program to individuals and groups during speaking engagements and other public events. 4. Cultivates and maintains positive
relationship with local businesses and planned giving professionals such as attorneys and trust officers for donor relations purposes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A corroborated experience in management; marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field and a minimum of five years job-related experience are required. An equivalent combination of education/experience may be accepted. At least three years of proved management and development experience and/or fund-raising activities may also be considered. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each area of responsibility satisfactorily.
