at key stages of the production process, ensuring quality standards meets customer and company specifications (i.
e. sampling and testing seasonings, batter, breading, and marinade solutions) Performing random sampling of food product, measuring weight, size, and thickness to ensure it meets customer and company specifications. Utilize a wide variety of instruments and measuring devices for testing food samples including analytical scales, ovens, centrifuges, automatic pipettes, etc. Assist in performing periodic checks of the production and shipping and receiving areas for GMPs Perform temperature checks on food products and ensure that thermometers are properly calibrated.
Coordinate with the production department to perform and collect swabs samples, whenever it is deemed necessary. Ensure that the metal detectors, analytical scales and other food product screening devices are calibrated properly and in good working order. Assist the shipping and receiving department with the inspection of the quality of raw materials, ensuring that it is suitable for use by production. Assist with conducting GMP training for the production, maintenance, and sanitation staff, as well as temporary team members. Assist the production department in meeting the company's GMP, HACCP and SOPs standards.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives with respect to GMPs and Food Safety Assist in examining new and existing supplies of food ingredients, cleaning chemicals, and packaging materials. Ensure that employees and temporary workers are meeting compliance with all applicable food safety standards. Complete quality inspection reports or other quality assurance documentation. Actively participates in any food safety investigations.
