As a part of our Water team, the Water Resources Design Engineer will assist Project Managers with tasks such as stormwater master planning, design of stormwater systems, culverts & bridges, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, river restoration, and stream mechanics and geomorphology in order to assist state, regional (ex. MHFD), and municipal

The majority of your day would be spent on a team performing various tasks for projects in the following disciplines: watershed backssments, watershed planning studies, water supply planning, storm water/drainage way master plans, storm drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping studies, and flood control. You will work with Project Engineers and Managers who will guide you in the development of deliverables. Developing and applying scripts and tools to optimize large-scale watershed analyses Exploring and developing workflows for engineering studies MUST HAVE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE You'll need a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineer, or equivalent work experience; and at least 4-6 years of related experience in surface water or related field. Fundamental understanding of hydrology and hydraulics Strong attention to detail. Ownership and accountability for quality deliverables Ability to be flexible and have self-initiative Must possess a valid Driver's License PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one.
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as Arc Map, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models like HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS) Experience preparing engineering related calculations and analyses, analyze data in spreadsheets and programming tools, and prepare visual aids Experience preparing plans and specifications for storm water design and stream channel restoration design projects Experience in 2D and unsteady H&H modeling Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as exceptional organizational skills COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000.
