with senior scientists to provide crucial microbiological support to biotransformation projects, contributing to the advancement of Biotransformation technologies. The work encompasses various microbiological, molecular biological, and fermentation tasks, ranging from strain management to analytical techniques.
Core Responsibilities: Microbial Strain Development: Select, engineer, and cultivate microbial strains to enhance their biotransformation capabilities for target compounds. Microbial Strain Management: Maintain and establish microbial strain collections, including master and working cell banks (MCB and WCB). Fermentation Operations: Conduct benchtop fermentation operations and
downstream processes, including cell lysis, biomass separation, micro- and ultra-filtration. Analytical Skills: Interpret experimental data to guide process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
Develop and apply analytical methods to monitor and characterize microbial cultures, substrates, and products. Perform microscopy, chromatographic and spectrophotometric analysis, protein assays, and enzyme activity testing. Process Optimization: Conduct experiments to optimize fermentation and biotransformation processes for improved yields, product purity, and efficiency. Scale-up and Technology Transfer: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale up biotransformation processes from lab
to pilot and production scale. Support Biotransformation Projects: Collaborate with the team to apply microbiological expertise to advance biotransformation projects, delivering results in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of experiments, protocols, and results, following best practices and regulatory requirements. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment. Additional Duties: Assist and complete other tasks as needed to support the Biotransformation Team. Qualified candidates will have: Bachelor's, or Master's in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
