Essential Functions Operates laboratory equipment and performs functions including: calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, instrument validation studies, quality control, proficiency testing, and documentation.
Reads, interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition in order to explain test results. Documents and communicates significant information and special occurrences which may affect test results to the appropriate clinician. Routinely checks supplies and reagents in order to ensure adequate supply levels.
Ensures that reagents are properly labeled and dated. Directs work of laboratory assistants or laboratory services representatives and auxiliary personnel as appropriate.
