Job Description Summary Employee responsible for sampling asphalt product to ensure the product meets required tests. Requirements Partners and coordinates daily/weekly scheduling with management, plant personnel and crewmembers, as well as, Department of Transportation inspectors to obtain necessary samples and mix designs. Clear understanding of asphalt procedures/production. Must be self-motivated.
Must partner with other members of staff reporting to Quality Control Manager to ensure quality control specifications are met, as well as daily production schedules/estimates.
Knowledge to ensure ethical behavior and safety standards as required by the company and OSHA guidelines. Ability to prepare and submit proper documentation to the appropriate Quality Control personnel. Must understand how to evaluate test results and address problems when they arise. Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the general public. Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes.
Overtime work required. Out of town/county/state work may be required. Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion. Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must pass drug test and criminal background check. Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. WVDOH Asphalt Plant Technician certification preferred, but not required (will eventually need to acquire). Other state certifications as required.

Position Overview Weld metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing any combination of arc welding processes. Performs related tasks, such as Plasma, Oxygen/Acetylene, Air Arc & Track Torch cutting and grinding. Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases the size of metal parts. Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. General
maintenance and set-up of plants and mobile equipment requiring welding skills of arc and wire-feed welding.
Completes projects using a variety of mechanical skills. Operate forklift. Uses problem solving skills to complete various projects. Performs all work in conformance with established company safety policies. Must have experience in steel fabrication, at least 1 year is preferred. High school diploma / equivalent Ability to perform basic mathematics. Ability to read fractions and a tape measure. Ability to read shop prints. Understanding of basic hand and power tools and their use Capable of Arc & MIG welding overhead, horizontal and vertical, with ability to pass certification.
Capable of using oxy/fuel torch to cut steel. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. throughout the day. Must partner with shop members per plan specifications, and if need be, perform task of other positions as instructed by shop foreman to ensure daily schedules are met.
