VA Telework: Not available with this position Job Start Date : within 2 weeks of hiring Shift : Days ~0800 - 1600 Experience Required : Successful candidates must have a minimum of 15-20 years US Navy surface warfare experience gained while on active duty senior enlisted or officer serving on carriers, DDGs, CGs, LCS, large deck or smaller amphibious ships, or land based test sites, etc.
OR 15-20 years' combination active duty, Industry, and/or civil service experience with Aegis Weapon System (AWS) design, development and integration. Required specialized experience in such programs as Aegis Combat and Weapon Systems; Aegis BMD Sea-Based Weapon Systems; Command and Control, Battle Management
and Communications (C2BMC); Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD). Experience may have been gained as a Tactical Action Officer (TAO), BMD Officer (BMDO), Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) or Interface Control Officer (ICO), Combat Information Center (CIC) Officer, Air Defense (AD) Officer, Combat System Coordinator (CSC), Anti-Air Watch Coordinator (AAWC).
Two (2) years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) is required. A formal degree supporting systems engineering, software engineering or significant analysis experience is a plus. Description of Duties : Duties for this position will be supporting NSWCDD V20 Systems Engineering Branch
and the Missile Defense Agency, providing technical support for both development and in service programs.
This may include: Leveraging technical knowledge of background USN program experience to provide insight on open computer program issues, technical briefs, and data analysis results and provide sound technical and programmatic recommendations to baseline senior leadership. Participate in planning meetings for live fleet exercises, program deliveries, and milestones to achieve program certification which may include coordinating analysis, developing briefs and conducting presentations. Support system requirements development, test scenario development, test execution, program backssment, baseline development, shipboard integration, baseline performance/compliance verification, and baseline computer program authorization/certification.
Communicate NSWCDD status, risks, and schedules with program office sponsors and also down flowing information to NSWCDD program team members and different organizations. Coordinate investigation and response of issues reported by the USN fleet for applicable programs. Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to perform efficiently and effectively on multiple projects under tight deadlines. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the BCI team and customers.
