What will you do? Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Manager. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team. - This position is located on-site at our facility in Fairfax, Virginia, with occasional overnight travel to our office in Melbourne, Florida and/or other locations as needed to support customer activities. - Your future team has worked together to produce the following job description: The new manager will be responsible for managing technical personnel in a department with a size of approximately 5 to 10 and growing.
- Responsibilities will be divided 20% functional management role and 80% direct charge program role. - Functional management will include staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, and performance management. - Direct program work will include Software Engineering technical work leadership (performing project planning and status tracking, defining detailed tasks, estimating the time and effort required to perform tasks, and periodic reporting on task status).
- The selected candidate may also be responsible for design, development, modification, integration and evaluation of complex signals intelligence, radar, and communications systems. - Duties will include all aspects of software engineering, including requirements analysis and specification, software design, implementation and integration, testing, and installation. The Journeyman C5ISR/MPE Enterprise Architect will develop Mission Partner Environment reference architecture in support of JADC2-related impacts to Line of Effort 5 - modernization of the Mission Partner Environment (MPE). --- Develop DOD Architecture Framework-compliant views and associated data. --- Work with functional subject matter experts to collect and describe operational and system processes, nodes, activities, associated inputs, controls, outputs, and mechanisms. --- Prepare, staff, and publish formal Command architecture documents. --- Produce architecture in support of cybersecurity accreditation requirements.
