Qualification: · Must have a high school diploma or equivalency. · Must have experience working in Security.
· Must have a Guard Card. Duties: · Observe all personnel entering the facility/grounds when suspected of carrying weapons, showing hostility, or being unauthorized personnel.
· Patrol the areas around the VA Clinic and report any illegal activity, unusual findings, or safety concerns. Security guards will, at random so as not to establish a pattern, conduct a minimum of four internal foot patrols and two external foot patrols of the Clinic. · Log these patrols in the daily operations Log. · Conduct one final internal foot patrol prior to the close of business to make sure that no unauthorized persons remain in the building. · Conduct foot patrols in accordance with training and direction
and notifying the Police Dispatch of all security related activity.

Inquire as to the purpose of the visit of the vehicle's occupants or pedestrians. Perform random checks upon entering vehicles to include an examination of the undersides of vehicles using a hand-held mirror. Allow vehicles or pedestrians to enter the facility only upon recognition of no apparent threat.
