K-12 ELL endorsement is not an appropriate equivalent to or substitute for a TESOL certificate OR Master’s degree in a related field (such as foreign language, linguistics, speech, anthropology, English, adult education, intercultural communication, international studies or other fields upon SAC approval) PLUS proficiency in a foreign language and five years experience in an adult ESL classroom teaching a variety of skills and levels (pre-literate to college) to students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
