This position is supervised by the Executive Community Health Nursing Director, School Health Services Program Administrator and is responsible for assisting with the Administration of Florida Department of Health School Health Services Program. The primary duties of this position include: Ability and willingness
to travel statewide year-round for multiple days when on work assignments. Ability and willingness to travel in the most economical means available to the state while performing job duties.
Function as a state liaison for county-level School Health programs with a caseload of no less than 20 counties. This includes but is not limited to: Serves as a liaison with school health service program leadership in assigned county (DOH, LEA, Contracted Partners). Assures that methods of acquiring data sets needed to meet the requirements of school health reporting and monitoring are met. Works with local offices to meet central office needs. Facilitates and ensures open lines of communication between central office and field office they are serving directly. Keeps continuous track of local contacts. Provides education and updates regarding school health services when required. Assists with the backssments and evaluation of local School Health programs. Understands and can communicate the structure and operational capacity of the various programs under their responsibility. Reviews, evaluates, and validates statistical data for the School Health programs.
Assists in the formulation of policies and procedures for nursing and support services. Perform county level school health program monitoring on a rotating schedule using various methods of monitoring including required in-person travel monitoring. In collaboration with team, helps to provide technical assistance on issues related to School Health. Assists in preparation and review of drafted documents. Develops responses to emails and phone inquiries relative to school health issues as assigned. Receives approval before disseminating programmatic responses.
Provides support effort for data collection and quality improvement efforts regarding school health data capture, aggregation and visualization methods, processes, and programmatic end goals for data sets. Assists county health department staff in completing manual and electronic versions of the School Health Services Plan and the Annual School Health Services Report, and other ad hoc reports and data sets as required’ Assists with the development and review of policies, standards, manuals, reports necessary for the implementation and management of school health services and initiatives funded by the legislature.
Assists leadership with analysis of school health reports and plans and participates in the development of grants and grant reviews. Participates in the development of grants and grant reviews. Participates in the development of legislative budget requests, bill analysis, and annual reports. Helps develop graphic displays, presentations and other visuals/program materials or as needed. Participates in quality improvement desk audits and site visits including the analysis of epidemiological data review of school health procedures and records, and application of problem-solving techniques to enhance health services for school aged children.

Operations Consultant I (GOC I) on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Overdose Data to Action: Limiting Overdose through Collaborative Actions in Localities (OD2A) grant at the Florida Department of Health in Duval County.
This position supports administrative functions of the grant including, purchasing, scheduling, and coordination of meetings, and assisting with grant reporting.
Works collaboratively with OD2A staff to prepare reports and other documents to the CDC, including the OD2A work plan, budget narrative, evaluation plan, annual progress report, and technical review response: Assists with collection of data from community partners for grant reporting
purposes. Summarizes key accomplishments, challenges, and barriers experienced for inclusion in reports to the CDC. Works with internal and external stakeholders to draft reports summarizing grant activities.
Proofreads reports and ensures information is reported accurately, concisely, and cohesively. Enters information for reports into the CDC's Partner's Portal. Provides administrative support to the OD2A program: Submits purchase orders in My Florida Markey Place following established policies and procedures. Assists with coordination of special projects. Coordinates calendars and assists in managing functions of the project. Composes, types, and edits correspondence, memos, reports,
forms, and other materials. Coordinates meetings including space, time, and developing meeting materials.
Records and distributes minutes and meetings. Completes IT requests, work orders, and travel requests using established policies and procedures. Participate in transition staffing and make recommendations for new referrals to the VR program through meetings with the Independent Living/Children's Rehabilitation Specialist on a quarterly basis. Encourage clients to attain industry-recognized certificates and credentials linked to occupations in high demand. Encourage the client's development of self-advocacy skills. Conduct follow-up calls with clients and employers within 90 days of employment start date, as well as at the 180-day and employment anniversary to determine further services and possible job opportunities for other clients.
Work with district leadership to ensure additional services are coordinated. Assist in meeting program goals assigned by the state office and individually by the District Administrator by facilitating successful employment outcomes. Focus on activities that lead to meeting WIOA performance measures, such as seeking opportunities for students and youth with disabilities to practice workplace skills, encouraging utilization of online job systems, strengthening employer relationships, and promoting integrated employment.
Monitor the provision of services to ensure clients have the functional and independent living skills necessary to achieve the vocational goal. This position will collaborate with each section within the program office and be required to use independent judgement, take initiative in carrying out duties and responsibilities and should
be extraordinarily detail oriented. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include: Assist SOR Data Coordinator and program staff with reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting grant deliverables.
Produce timely reporting of data for mid-year and annual progress reports to fulfill federal reporting requirements; reports to management and leadership; and ad hoc reports as requested, adhering to deadlines, and ensuring complete, thorough, and accurate information in reporting. Develop, design, and deliver comprehensive programmatic reports for both internal and external use. These include but are not limited to; maps, slide sets, fact sheets, research publications, peer review papers, quality assurance/technical assistance visits, reports related to special projects, behavioral and socio-demographic analysis, responses to requests from field operations and community partners, customized reports appropriate to special request and other data-related products as needed.
Establish and maintain effective and efficient systems to monitor data, reporting, and surveillance systems for public health improvement; and reviewing and analyzing related local, state, federal and national reports, including, but not limited to: Florida Medical Examiners Commission Drugs Identified in Deceased Persons Report.
Emergency Medical Services Controlled Substance Overdose Report. E-FORCSE Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Annual Report. International Narcotics Control Strategy Report. National Drug Threat backssment. National Drug Control Strategy. Regular review of data in SPARS (SAMHSA Performance and Accountability Reporting System) and WITS (Web Infrastructure for Treatment Services) and cross reference with FASAMS reports produced by the SOR Data Coordinator to ensure data quality and accuracy. Collect and review special projects reports, including hospital/jail bridge and child welfare, and develop/maintain corresponding databases for tracking and reporting.
Produce monthly reports on SOR-funded prevention, treatment, and recovery services, including client-level data for Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services and other reports, as required. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including, but not limited to the Florida Department of Health and the Agency for Health Care Administration for collection and review of related data and reviewing and/or monitoring other opioid and stimulant-related public health programs.
Assist Data Coordinator regarding monthly conference calls with Managing Entities (MEs) to discuss Government Performance Results Act (GPRA) compliance rate, data discrepancies, and overall data quality. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for the position: Knowledge of intermediate to advanced knowledge of statistical software programs (like SAS, SPSS, and R). Knowledge of commonly used software, such as Word and Excel. Knowledge of administrative principles and practices. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.

At least four years of professional experience in data analysis, systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work. Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
