Responsible for the supervision of non-exempt and bargaining unit staff (if applicable) and for contract oversight for labor and logistics. Job Duties/Responsibilities Ensure a safe working environment by requiring that all safety rules and policies are followed, including all required documentation and adherence to the Safety, Health, and Environmental Safety Plan (SHEMS).
Oversee non-exempt and/or bargaining unit staff and provide continuous training in safety and warehouse operations. Actively seek and solicit ideas from staff for Entergy Continuous Improvement (ECI). Use ECI techniques to analyze causes, plan and implement improvements, and study effects of changes. Perform day to
day supervision of warehouse functions including cycle counting, receiving, picking and shipping. Establish a process that makes housekeeping a priority for the workgroup.
Maintain all transmission warehouse equipment including forklifts, trailers and other vehicles. Ensure facility and equipment is within environmental compliance. Process material returns and ensure credits are posted to proper code block. Study warehouse layout to seek the most efficient methods of material put away and picking. Review delivery schedules and routes for efficiency. Interface with Transmission Operations key personnel for material planning, delivery and problem resolution. Work with Procurement and Inventory
Management to suggest stocking levels, resolve material receipt issues and to minimize material stock outs.
Assist in budget development including suggestions for capital improvements, managing capital, clearings and O&M within established budget targets. Navigate with a working knowledge within Asset Suite 6 (AS6), DIS and AM/FM applications. Serve as a key leader in storm restoration, overseeing incremental staff and ensuring that materials are delivered to material lay down sites as required. Develop and execute a schedule for emergency callouts and ensure that the schedule is followed. Establish departmental objectives and standards of performance in accordance with defined Supply Chain objectives.
Review and act on management reports, charts and briefings dealing with materials management measures, inventories, material availability, labor, etc. Assist with the contract management of the third party logistics provider. Assist with the contract management of labor provider and provide feedback to contractor management on employee performance. Minimum Requirements Minimum education required of the position Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, and/or a related technical field. Minimum experience required of the position 6 to 8 years experience in a materials management related field is required.
Will consider similar experience in Distribution Operations jobs that interact with Supply Chain Operations. Preferred : Some prior supervisory experience, especially working with bargaining unit employees and experience in leading safety initiatives within a work group Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position Advanced computer skills with a solid knowledge and understanding of Entergy's AS6, DIS and MS Toolkit applications, especially MS ACCESS and IKW table structure and query ability. Outstanding communication, conflict management and change management skills.
