The Environmental Geologist II responsibilities encompass supporting a successful business practice in Raba Kistner's Geoscience Service Line. Responsibilities include performance of field activities including but not limited to site visits, data collection, geologic mapping, soil and groundwater sampling activities, and
monitoring well installation. Geologist II responsibilities also include assisting with preparation of report graphics and written environmental reports and proposals.
Secondary responsibilities include performance of internal projects as needed including but not limited to the development of internal documents, databases, and statements of qualifications. The Geologist II may also have the opportunity to oversee project budgets, subcontractors, and manage client relationships to a limited degree. Collect representative samples of soil, groundwater, and other environmental media in accordance with environmental protocols.
Develop and interpret geosciences and environmental information and prepare technical reports and other written deliverables with minimal direction. Coordinate activities of subcontractors on assigned projects. Assist in preparation of proposals and statements of qualifications (SOQs). Conduct research and/or assist in conducting " walk-throughs" of project sites for the purpose of preparing proposals for projects. Learn and understand project financial management fundamentals and resources and assist with the oversight and management of project schedules and budgets as required. Oversee/train others in the execution of technical duties and/or project financial management tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Geology required; Master's degree in Geology is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification / 8-hour refresher. Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) certification through the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists or ability to obtain GIT certification within 6 months of employment. The ideal candidate for this position possesses the following: Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience preparing environmental compliance permits and plans for industrial sites. Desire to develop and grow as a technical leader in environmental consulting. Adept in analyzing and interpreting technical information for independent decision and
action. Eagerness to protect the environment by improving our client's conditions and regulatory compliance. Other responsibilities include: Conduct field work and data reduction to support the drafting of plans, permits and compliance reports.
Autonomously prepare industrial SWPPPs, individual stormwater permit applications, SPCC plans, solid waste registrations and wastewater permit applications. Identify, source and provide clients with solutions for regulatory non-compliance. Serve as a technical mentor to team members and colleagues in other Raba Kistner service lines. Conduct and/or oversee Compliance, Natural Resources and Geoscience projects as assigned. Participate in and/or
service as a lead auditor for environmental compliance audits. Interact with clients and regulatory agencies as necessary.
Other duties as assigned by Direct Report Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Wildlife Ecology, Geology, Natural Resources or a closely-related field required and 5 years of environmental consulting experience preferred. Able to pursue advanced certifications, and perform self-directed research for self-improvement. Demonstrate proficiency in adapting to the variability of different state permit requirements. Possess ability to perform focused media or multimedia environmental audits. Good oral and written communications skills and ability to work in teams at different levels within the organization.

The Storm Water Compliance Inspector is responsible for the inspection and client support of all storm water locations assigned. Responsibilities include: Apply the following rules and regulations in the field and in/through reports plans and permits: Storm water TXR050000, TXR15000, TXG11000 and Spill
Prevention Control and Counter Measures (SPCC) 40 CFR 112. Prepare and maintain reports that are necessary to carry out functions of the storm water projects both regulatory and internal reporting.
Participate in department cross training program to develop skills in all environmental service areas.
