The Environmental Geologist II responsibilities encompass supporting a successful business practice in Raba Kistner's Geoscience Service Line. Responsibilities include performance of field activities including but not limited to site visits, data collection, geologic mapping, soil and groundwater sampling activities, and

monitoring well installation. Geologist II responsibilities also include assisting with preparation of report graphics and written environmental reports and proposals.

Secondary responsibilities include performance of internal projects as needed including but not limited to the development of internal documents, databases, and statements of qualifications. The Geologist II may also have the opportunity to oversee project budgets, subcontractors, and manage client relationships to a limited degree. Additional duties include overseeing, teaching, mentoring, and training others on performance of technical and other job duties pertaining to Geosciences services. Other responsibilities include:

Conduct Phase I and/or Phase II Environmental Site backssments (ESAs) including field work, data reduction, and reporting as necessary to support Geosciences and Due Diligence projects.

Conduct field work and data reduction as directed to support projects executed by other Environmental Service Lines (i. e. Natural Resources, Regulatory Compliance, Cultural Resources). Assist with the performance of geophysical evaluations. Oversee installation of groundwater monitoring wells and conduct well development, purging, and sampling. Collect representative samples of soil, groundwater, and other environmental media in accordance with environmental protocols.

Develop and interpret geosciences and environmental information and prepare technical reports and other written deliverables with minimal direction. Coordinate activities of subcontractors on assigned projects. Assist in preparation of proposals and statements of qualifications (SOQs). Conduct research and/or assist in conducting " walk-throughs" of project sites for the purpose of preparing proposals for projects. Learn and understand project financial management fundamentals and resources and assist with the oversight and management of project schedules and budgets as required. Oversee/train others in the execution of technical duties and/or project financial management tasks.

Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Geology required; Master's degree in Geology is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification / 8-hour refresher. Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) certification through the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists or ability to obtain GIT certification within 6 months of employment. Familiarity with geologic conditions in Texas; specific knowledge of San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and Houston conditions preferred.

Excellent working knowledge of Phase I and Phase II ESA requirements and components per the applicable ASTM standards. Proficiency in soil, groundwater, and surface water collection procedures and protocols. Basic knowledge of: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications (i. e. ESRI Arc GIS software); Specialized training, course work, or certificate in GIS is preferred. Or proficiency with recreational and/or mapping-grade Geographic Positioning Systems (GPS). Willingness and ability to learn and quickly establish proficiency with Raba Kistner procedures and protocols for performing Geosciences and Due Diligence project work.

Good oral and written communications skills and ability to work in teams at different levels within the organization. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry and trigonometry. Intermediate - Advanced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Publisher). This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.

Possess a valid driver's license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet company's auto insurability requirements. Able to drive vehicle short and long distances. Able to travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain and work in different weather conditions.
