Universal has security jobs and are seeking to fill the position of a Security Flex Officer. Part - Time / Multi - Site ( Flexible Schedule ) Flexible Schedule Requirements : A Flex officer is available on call to pick up shifts for call off's and vacations.
They must be available to work all days of the week for any shift. No Guarantee a officer will work more than 8 hrs a week. Flexible Officers Schedules vary based on the need of the client. Flexible Officers will be considered for the next available open Full Time Shift. Coverage area in Illinois Peoria/ Galesburg/ Macomb/ Quincy/ Rockford Peoria, IL Multi - Site Officers Must be willing to travel to to sites outside of Peoria, IL
Anything over 30 minutes travel to site is Paid travel time and will be paid at post pay rate ( Paid Travel Time is only offered for Flex officers asked to cover a shift 30 minutes or more away from their home)The Security Flex Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect.
A Security Flex Officer acts as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions and detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts, which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.
Other duties may be assigned: Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post order Must be able to work various shifts and weekends, as dictated by the operational needs of the team.

Current state driver's license, clean driving record (no points in prior 3 years), minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and ability to safely operate a vehicle required. Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients, while functioning as a team player required. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands, is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop, talk and hear (communicate verbally in person and via regular telephone equipment), and must be able to read computer screens, correspondence and reports in English. The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
Must be able to focus and multi-task in a busy environment, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner. Includes being able to effectively manage multiple employees with diverse personalities and engage them to perform at optimum levels. Must be able to clearly speak, read and write English.
