Communications expert, and strategic advisor to have direct impact on positively contributing to the St. Louis Area Foodbank's vision of a nutritionally secure Missouri and Illinois. The Director of Marketing and Communications will help elevate the awareness of and affinity for the work of the St.
Louis Area Foodbank in serving the region with its various constituents through the development of messaging, materials, and activities. The Director of Marketing and Communications will serve as Brand Ambassador as well as lead public relations (PR) initiatives both proactively and in response to crisis and will be the primary media liaison for the organization. The Director of Marketing and
Communications will be an integral member of the Foodbank's Leadership Team. The St. Louis Area Foodbank has been growing steadily during the past 10 years and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025.
We are seeking to dramatically accelerate our growth, impact, and influence in the communities we serve across 26 counties in the bi-state region (Illinois and Missouri). Duties and Responsibilities Strategy & Management Develop and execute Marketing and Communications strategies that furthers the mission of the Foodbank through collaboration with key stakeholders. Identify and measure departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in service of organization-wide KPIs. Contribute to
the evolution of organizational strategies as a member of the organization's Leadership Team.
Ensure appropriate systems, staffing, and procedures are in place to support Marketing and Communications strategies. Develop and monitor departmental annual budget and track expenses accordingly. Brand Management Ensure brand identity, messaging, and Marketing and Communications strategies are present in all organizational efforts (programming, philanthropy, volunteers, etc. ). Develop, implement, and evaluate marketing campaigns related to programs, events, donor cultivation, and volunteer cultivation. Content Strategy and Management Oversee the development, design, distribution, and maintenance of high-quality print materials and electronic collateral including, but not limited to the annual report, newsletters, brochures, presentations, etc.
Collaborate with Development/Philanthropy staff on creation and execution of fundraising appeals. Lead the strategy and generation of engaging content for the St. Louis Area Foodbank's website ( stlfoodbank. org ) and various social media channels. Create and circulate talking points for use by internal and external stakeholders. Serves as writer for Foodbank stories and other content. Media Relations Actively solicit media coverage and serve as one of the primary media spokespersons for the organization.
Construct and distribute news releases/media advisories for initiatives and activities of the Foodbank. Arrange for and manage media visits, events, and photo opportunities. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, public relations or communications. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Marketing and Communications field. Minimum of 10 years of relevant and increasingly responsible experience in the Marketing and Communications field required.
Non-profit experience preferred. At least 5 years of managerial and staff supervision experience required. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional critical thinking skills and strategic mindset. Experience in media relations and story placement is essential. Experience serving as organization spokesperson a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check. Work Schedule Monday - Friday onsite at the St. Louis Area Foodbank facility and in the community as needed.
However, flexibility will be granted as appropriate. Occasional weekend (Saturday/Sunday) or evening hours may be required dependent on special events and other projects related to this position. Meeting attendance may require overnight travel. We facilitate the movement of food safely and efficiently and offer the kinds of resources and support to our partner agencies that a single food pantry or shelter could not hope to access on its own. Data is subsequently fed back to our company for verification. Certain products must be purchased, photographed and transferred to Eolas.
Up to 60 products can be rated in each store. For each product we will rate up to 6 different samples. THE CANDIDATE: We require a trustworthy and hardworking person, who is willing to be trained to perform product ratings to a standard that has gained Eolas International an excellent reputation in this field. The candidate would need to be settled long-term in the location and
