for high-traffic location. Qualifications Lock Net is seeking a Benefits & Leave of Absence Specialist to join our HR team! This position will lead the Benefits Function as well as manage all leaves of absences for our company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead and administer the non-wage compensation of employees, such as health, retirement, and supplemental insurance plans (life, short term disability, hospitalization, etc. ) Orienting new employees on their benefits packages, and enrolling them in the proper programs Answering exiting employees' questions regarding benefits and assisting them with proof of coverages, filing claims (short term, hospitalization, accidental,
etc. ) Educating existing employees when their benefits change and helping them to make choices each year during open enrollment General understanding of COBRA and ability to assist with questions and monitoring enrollments Reviewing and reconciling the monthly invoices and sending to accounting for payment Working with the HRIS and Benefits contacts in troubleshooting and communication to ensure Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) files are working properly Lead and administer Lock Net's 401k plan, including ensuring eligibility and enrollment compliance and working the annual audits Lead and administer all leaves, to include FML, Medical, ADA, worker comp, etc.
Assist with educating employees about the proper leaves of absences and how they inter-connect with applicable benefits (short term disability, long term disability, workers comp, etc. ) Assist with requests and administration of accommodation requests Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 3-5 years of experience in an HR role 1-2 years of experience specifically administering insurances and leaves of absences In-depth knowledge of the interplay between insurances and leaves of absences Must enjoy and be great at being a resource to employees in these functions Must be proficient in understand laws and regulations regarding insurances and leaves, and also have a high competency in discerning situations that fall in the grey area Must be proficient in maneuvering through online systems, working in spreadsheets, and interacting with various types of technology Work experience in a small or mid sized business is a plus What Sets Lock Net Apart as an Employer?
