Job Summary: The Float Pool Registered Nurse provides patient care using the nursing process of backssment, planning, intervention, evaluation, teaching and supervision. They also provide collaboration with the healthcare team, patient, family and significant other. Duties & Responsibilities: Makes an backssment of and determines total nursing needs of assigned patients.
The patient population would include: the neonate patient, the pediatric patient, the adolescent patient, the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient. Formulates a comprehensive nursing plan of care for the patient and will collaborate the overall plan of patient care. Implement a plan of care based on backssment data as well as a sound knowledge base. Assist the patient and significant other to obtain knowledge regarding their disease processes and self-care through utilization of proper resources. Assure open and timely communication with the patient, their significant other, and team members to ensure the occurrence of effective therapeutic interventions.
Be competent and current in Acute Care, Critical Care and Emergency Nursing, adhering to established standards of practice, and will engage in activities or behaviors that characterize professionals. Provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of each human being and on a resolution to act dynamically in relation to peoples' beliefs. Performs additional duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility.
ED only: Registers patient to begin quick registration process, by obtaining name, age, primary care physician, and other demographic information required to complete the quick registration process, when necessary. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree Nursing Program. One to two years of acute nursing experience preferred. Current Ohio State license as a Registered Nurse required. Current certification in Basic Life Support. RN's are required have rhythm analysis, ACLS, PALS, AND NIH within 12 months of hire and TNCC certification recommended within two years of hire date.
