Primary Responsibilities The Tier II Network Analyst will work as part of the Network Operations team providing 24x7x365 monitoring services for USCG enterprise wide-area networks. In this, they will utilize provided tools and dashboards
to monitor, analyze, and backss network performance and operational status as well as responding to and managing user trouble tickets. The analyst will perform technical root cause analysis and work with the team to provide recommendations and perform required actions in the remediation of system outages and realized system degradations.
Additionally, they will liaison with deployment teams, field technicians, and service providers to coordinate and manage circuit cutovers and authorized downtime in support of system enhancements and required maintenance. Participation in daily shift turnover and ad hoc leadership and situational briefs will be required. Qualifications: 4+ years of experience
in system administration and/or network engineering, 3+ years of experience in supporting SOC or NOC environments.
Excellent communication skills to clearly document and communicate their findings, internally and externally. Working knowledge of common networking concepts, technology and standards, e. g. IPV4/IPV6, LAN/WAN, common routing and switching protocols, firewalls and ACLs, 802.1x etc. Experience with Cisco router and switch configuration and troubleshooting. Demonstrated experience with Telco Circuit management is a plus. Familiarity with LINUX OS variants is a plus.
