Admission notes and evaluations. Discharge summaries. Directs and participates in Treatment Team functions. Assures active treatment is occurring on assigned unit(s). Psychiatric rounds are to be completed daily on the units. Required documentation in the chart is consistent with DHS/OMHSAS regulations, Danville State Hospital requirements, professional medical and Medicare standards.
Commitment/recommitment petitions and hearings, financial/medical competency evaluations and hearings, and other legal proceedings, as required. Document psychiatric care for Part B Medicare payments. Performance improvement responsibilities as assigned. Provides consultation to, consults with, and advises
members of the medical staff and allied hospital personnel, agencies, relatives, and other interested persons on the care, treatment, and prognosis of residents.
Review of laboratory reports, test results, x-ray reports, other diagnostic test reports, physical and neurological examinations, consultation reports, and other medical/psychiatric reports in order to alert staff to any unusual circumstances. Family intervention as dictated by clinical requirements. Discharge planning and communication with the base service units. Responsibilities and duties will be governed and updated by Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Service, Department of Human Services, Danville State Hospital,
and other administrative and regulatory agencies’ bulletins and directives.
The incumbent may chair or be a member of any hospital/medical staff committee or task force. The incumbent is required to cover other unit(s) during normal working hours with no increase in hourly rate, as assigned, in cases where the attending psychiatrist is off duty and according to the number of psychiatric staff. National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) query, again in order to screen out for any adverse actions taken against the applicant. American Medical Association (AMA) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) profile of the applicant to verify medical training, residency training, DEA, etc. Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) to check status of medical licenses in other states, including any restrictions or adverse actions taken against the license.
Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques used in the field of psychiatry, and the relationships between diagnostic findings and therapeutic methodologies. Knowledge of mental illnesses, their symptoms, treatment and social implications. Knowledge of the application of psychiatry to individual and group behavior. Knowledge of the theories and principles used in the field of neurology, general medicine and surgery Knowledge of laboratory methods, equipment and techniques as they relate to the field of psychiatry.
Ability to examine residents, interpret results of findings, make decisions and to prescribe or carry out course of treatment. Ability to communicate with and gain the confidence and cooperation of residents and to instill and maintain a cooperative attitude throughout the care and treatment process. Ability to direct and instruct hospital staff in current, accepted treatment principles and techniques used in the field of psychiatry. Ability to follow general instructions and departmental or hospital policies in carrying out the care and treatment function.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with residents, departmental or hospital personnel, and the general public. Completion of residency training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry. The candidate must be board admissible or board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Possession of a current/valid unrestricted license, in good standing, to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Current/valid unrestricted D. E. A. Certificate. Documented Continuing Medical Education credits as required for current licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Contractor agrees to comply with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) standards relating to their services performed on this contract. Contractor to provide on grounds at Warren State Hospital, Speech, Language, and Hearing Services for Warren State Hospital patients. The position will up to approximately 15 hours per week. patients residing at Warren State Hospital Provide Feeding Evaluations when requested by the treatment team. Provide sign language interpretive services as needed for deaf and hard of hearing individuals at Warren State Hospital.

Help individuals who are deaf to learn independent living skills, to improve their communication skills, and to prepare for their life in the community. Rehabilitation Executive Serve as a supportive coach for patients at Warren State Hospital with limited English.
Develop a plan of treatment for individual patients. Perform individualized treatment following established policy and procedures with the hospital. Re backsses and evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjusts treatment plan as necessary. Verbally communicate to the physicians, nurses, and other axillary personal involved in individuals' patients care as the need arises. Perform functional backssments when requested by physicians. Communicate with family member as the need arises. Minimum Qualifications Completion of all requirements for a master's degree, excluding a thesis, in the field of communicology or a related area, including or supplemented by not less than 24 credit hours in speech pathology and/or audiology earned at either the graduate or undergraduate level.
Possession of a certificate of clinical competence from the Council of Professional Standards of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and/or licensure as required by state law or regulation for professional employment in public schools or approved private schools. Abstracts sensitive information from C/ME and law enforcement reports on violent deaths that
occur in cooperating counties in Pennsylvania, either through on-site records examination at C/ME and law enforcement offices, or from examination of records provided to the PAVDRS program.
Codes, formats, edits, and enters data into web-based violent death database using national guidelines; retrieves data from electronic databases, public records, and other official sources to submit comprehensive violent death information to the CDC. Assists in the development of plans, reports, and presentations, as necessary.
