Duties and Responsibilities Primary Accountabilities and tasks: Complete assigned work for facility maintenance including work order tickets issued by supervisor(s) and requests made verbally by Senior Management, Practice Administrators, and Leads.
All work requests must be entered into the service ticket program. Repair specialized equipment and facilities such as but not limited to basic HVAC, mechanical plumbing including clearing plumbing line blockages, electrical, carpentry, etc. This work must be completed in accordance with acceptable trade and industry standards and procedures. Repairs and improves
facility interiors and exteriors including ceilings, walls, doors, windows, floors, parking lots, sidewalks, steps, and landscape. Complete preventative maintenance procedures on specialized equipment such as but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and telecommunications systems.
Respond to emergency situations and take proper corrective action. Call service and warranty personnel when corrective action needed is beyond department's capabilities. Pertinent Expected Duties: Ensures grounds are kept tidy and free of debris and/or hazards Assist with moves and deliveries of office furniture and equipment such as desks, chairs, file cabinets, tables, refrigerators, and supplies.
Complete and document inspections for Emergency Management and Fire Safety Systems listed below.
Report any non-compliance issues to supervisor(s) immediately for corrective action. Take corrective action during inspections to ensure safety is maintained for emergency response and fire safety. Meet with vendors responsible for emergency management and fire safety inspections annually, as well as generators and HVAC equipment quarterly or with service calls on scheduled or unscheduled days of inspections/repair work. Occasionally assist with courier functions when courier is absent or additional support is needed. Occasionally assist with housekeeping functions when housekeeping staff is absent or additional support is needed.
Serve as backup driver for mobile health unit [recreational vehicle]. Training will be provided. Complies with all infection control policies and procedures outlined by the organization in accordance with professional, state, and federal guidelines. Schedule: Day shift Ability to commute/relocate: East Hartford, CT 06108: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Education : Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Specialized advanced training or active Connecticut License in the trades such as HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and electric required.
S kills & Abilities: Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Computer (Work Ticketing System/ Work Order Queue experience preferred) Skills preferred, use of Outlook Email necessary. Instruction provided, but familiarity helpful. Attention to detail and organization, safety, cleanliness required Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment. Maintain confidentiality Teamwork and Respect necessary. Basic Math proficiency for measurements, calculating needs for supplies, etc.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a variety of maintenance related fields. Experience in healthcare environment preferred. Prepare cost estimates and capital requests from design specifications. Estimates include the following elements: design engineering and drafting, material cost, installation labor, installation supervision, start-up expenses, project management and project specific costs. Coordinate and/or supervise drafting and engineering work required to prepare project design, construction and installation drawings; prepare equipment specification; purchase material; prepare and issue contract specification; schedule, coordinate and supervise construction and installation; schedule and coordinate start-up activities.
Required skills and experience 3-5 years of experience. Must have good written and verbal communication skills, along with good related computer skills. Ability to work in team comprised of technical, production and maintenance personnel. Experience working/managing in a Union environment is a plus Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical/mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
