This role works closely with all YFAI functions, sites and business units in the region to ensure an integrated and cross functional approach to product safety is taken at all levels. Along with the global and regional management teams, this role assures the development and production of high quality, safe and reliable product that meets YFAI and customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications. Responsibilitieinteractionecute the Safety Sign Off (SSO) process in the region with focus on: Safety requirements per program (internal and

external) Provide technical direction and assistance for Product Safety in the PMP process and mitigate programs risks from Phase 1 through a successful launch by implementation of valid safety concepts and their successful validation.

Develop and refine technical standards with regards to product safety requirements: design guidelines, manufacturing guidelines, test methods and engineering methods. Provide post launch support with regards to analysis of non-conforming test results of safety tests. Provide technical guidance to the regional Production Quality Safety Committee in cases of in Potential Product Safety Concern (PPSC) and Concern Investigations. Closely collaborate with regional

Quality functions (Product Safety Manager) to ensure a successful execution of the PSMC process.

Support the regional Product Safety leader for input towards the Global Product Safety Committee of YF. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or above, preferred in a technical discipline, Engineering or Science related 5+ years in engineering field 3+ years of working experience in the automotive industry Experience working in a matrixed organization, preferably globally Experience with OEM's and customer specific requirements Strong knowledge and experience with automotive regulatory requirements (such as FMVSS) and customer safety requirements. Broad knowledge of product development (engineering, testing), manufacturing processes, FMEAs, MSA and Statistical Process Control (SPC) standards Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings, including ability to interpret standard GD&T Excellent problem-solving skills are required, including experience preparing problem solving documents such as 8Ds, etc.
