Experience in steering wheel/ driver airbag modules required. Experience leading programs and teams with full engineering responsibility. Airbag module testing and performance analysis experience. Knowledge of plastic part design for injection molding. Knowledge of Injection Mold Tooling (gates, parting lines, action, etc. ) as it relates to part design. Plastic resin and materials selection knowledge as related to airbag modules and steering wheel components.
Ability to develop component and sub-assembly GD&T tolerancing and tolerance stack-up studies in support of manufacturing & craftsmanship goals. Knowledge of leather- and PUR wrapping processes and design limitations for steering wheels and driver airbags. Experience using CAE as a design and product optimization tool. Ability to communicate in a professional and respectful manner in a team environment. Identify and address issues in a direct, " data driven" manner. Self-motivated and enthusiastic; " coaching" style.

Read current literature and stay abreast of new automotive technology or competitive products. Minimum Requirements: Masters degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related Engineering field of study and 3 years of experience in an occupation applying algorithms, CAD, or other mathematical tools to develop features, parts, or products in the automotive industry. or a closely related Engineering field of study and 1 year of experience in an occupation applying algorithms, CAD, or other mathematical tools to develop features, parts, or products in the automotive industry.
Must also have: (I) Demonstrated proficiency in Matlab, Simulink, Python, pytorch, and C/C++ in the context of feature algorithm development; (II) Solid background: a. designing and implementing feature algorithms for sequential decision-making; b. in model based algorithm development; and c. in image processing; (III) Experience testing new algorithms on hardware; (IV) Experience with data collection tools including CANoe, RTK GPS, Kistler, and d SPACE; (V) Experience developing algorithms based on vehicle state estimation, motion models, and sensor fusion; (VI) Product development experience; (VII) Experience developing new ideas to support patent applications; (VIII) Successful track record: a.
