The Opportunity: Perform necessary engineering functions required for the project to include electrical power service and distribution, branch circuits, indoor and outdoor lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm systems, telephone and data infrastructure wiring, audio/visual systems, and miscellaneous electrical and control systems. to verify existing site conditions and develop project requirements.Collaborate with the electrical Drafter/Designer on the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications)Effectively coordinate with internal and external members of the design team.
Research commercially available equipment and selecting equipment appropriate for project/client needs. Solve problems of a complex nature, with oversight from a more experienced Engineer, in both the design and construction phases of a project. Under the direction of a more experienced Engineer perform project management activities that can include reviewing and updating the budget, preparing and updating a project schedule,
and establishing project communications, standards and files as necessary.
Assist construction progress through shop drawing review, responding to request for information (RFIs), and performing inspections of construction progress. The Required Capabilities and Credentials: B. S. E. E. from an accredited university or equivalent experience required. Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.2-5 years of relevant electrical engineering design with a preferred focus on building power, lighting, and systems projects for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities. Experience selecting equipment and troubleshooting systems. Knowledge of the electrical construction trade, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and of the National Electric Code (NEC).
Proficiency in MS Office - specifically Excel, One Note, Outlook and Word. Relevant experience using Bluebeam and industry specific software such as SKM, Aspen, and/or Easy Power. Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings.
