At Holland Construction Services, the VDC Engineer will be responsible for supporting Preconstruction, Operations, and Business Development with the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and VDC (Virtual Design and Construction).
This is a critical role in the delivery of projects from conception to close-out. Works on simple to moderately complex projects that are primarily in the preconstruction stage. WHAT YOU'LL DO Performs 3D and 2D architectural, structural, earthwork, and site quantity take-offs and notes
potential Works and coordinates with Preconstruction Managers for take-off requirements Creates overlays and performs quantity schedule comparisons between design Communicates design concerns/issues found during Revit quantity take-offs.
Attends early-stage project development meetings with owners to understand conceptual Creates conceptual project models and site layouts for early quantity take-off, proposals, and feasibility studies. Creates site overlays with plans and up-to-date drone imagery for project team logistics Extracts 3D point cloud from drone data and imports to Revit for conceptual design Extracts terrain elevations from drone data and create existing grade contour plans
in Civil 3D Prepares Revit and drone images for project Coordinates monthly drone flights with Uploads drone flight images and distributes content to project Distributes monthly drone photos of current projects to the Sets up Bluebeam sessions for internal QA/QC processes Assist Senior VDC Engineers and VDC Managers with project coordination.
Creates 3D views of areas of interest to assist operations with project Sets up files for use, coordination, panels, trusses, Navisworks, and Uploads 3D models to Procore Models for WHAT YOU'LL NEED Typically requires an associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related degree and 0-2 years of experience OR equivalent combination of education and/or WORKING CONDITIONS Regularly required to communicate Sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs; lifting up to 10 lbs.
