Position Overview The Product Engineer is responsible for project designs and layouts, new product design, and existing product enhancement to support Oldcastle Infrastructure’s growing business.
They will be responsible for all design tasks and aspects within their specified brand class and material type including commercial support and collaboration with operation and product management teams. Key Responsibilities Performs, oversees, and directs product structural design and detailing
along with product prototyping and testing. Performs and reviews design calculations and take-offs for concrete and steel products. Establishing product specifications, material standards, and testing requirements for operations’ teams based on industry and customer expectations.
Developing customer details and drawings. Reviewing accuracy of product designs and drawings completed by drafting team. Providing technical support and expertise for quality standards and certifications. Setting goals and objectives for internal and external customer projects. Attending job sites and customer meetings as needed to provide technical support. Generating goals and expectations to communicate weekly
with key customers related to project status and backlog.
Serve as technical resource for product strength requirements and concrete mix designs. Support quality control process implementation. Partner with the Product Management organization to develop and enhance our strategy aligned with our IPG strategy: Product Breadth, Solving Customer Problems, Innovation, and Intellectual Property. Collaborate cross functionally to optimize product performance for our customers to ensure lowest manufactured cost and scalability. High initiative and results driven; an entrepreneurial self-starter who operates with speed, simplicity, and passion to succeed. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. EIT or PE certification preferred. Experience in concrete manufactured products for infrastructure construction preferred. Experience with 3D software (Autodesk Inventor knowledge is an asset). Experience reviewing and performing structural calculations.
