Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Aero-Thermal Fluids - Augmentor Engineer to support the Aero Thermal Fluids (ATF) organization which is responsible for the functional aerodynamic design, analysis and performance of components and modules across all commercial and military product lines. Also, the select candidate will be supporting the Exhaust Systems Aero group, a part of the ATF organization, which focuses
on the aerodynamic design and analysis of high-performance military exhaust systems, including bypass duct and nozzle aerodynamics, augmentor combustion, and exhaust system cooling design.
The Aero-Thermal Fluids - Augmentor Engineer will be part of Pratt & Whitney's industry leadership in current and next generation military propulsion systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Key Responsibilities: Lead aero-thermal fluids efforts as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, analyze, integrate, test, validate and deliver state of the art propulsion systems and technologies. Expertise in any of the following focus areas: pressure gain combustion, combustion dynamics, heat transfer, reacting CFD simulation.
Work with internal and external customers to achieve program goals on time and within budget Typical tasks include conceptual design studies, product design & analysis, rig & engine testing, and technology development. Additional responsibilities may include proposal development, technology planning, and airframe integration Basic Qualifications: 2023 or 2024 Ph D in Mechanical, Aerospace or a related STEM field with related research experience to include any of the following focus areas: pressure gain combustion, combustion dynamics, heat transfer, reacting CFD simulation.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U. S. government issued security clearance is required at a Secret or Higher level. U. S. citizenship is required, as only U. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Travel up to 10% Preferred Qualifications: Active U. S government issued security clearance at a Secret or Higher level. or be able to obtain/maintain a US Government Security Clearance at a Secret or Higher level. Prior experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Strong technical, problem solving, communication and leadership skills.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER As a Transportation Engineer , you are vital to supporting traffic operations planning and design for master planning, long-range planning, regional studies, non-motorized transportation planning, and multimodal transportation planning studies. TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS Degree in civil engineering, urban planning, geography, or related field 2-3 years of experience in consulting or with a planning agency, preferred Experience with HCS, SYNCHRO, and VISSIM Experience in Auto CAD Experience in MS Office, including proficiency in spreadsheets and database management Ability to provide work samples and references Ability to travel throughout the Greater NYC Region and the New England Region We are looking for a self-driven individual who can work independently and in collaborative environments and can utilize strong organizational skills to problem solve and manage multiple tasks effectively.
