POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a professional position that serves as the trainer for pre- and post- test HIV testing; and provides technical assistance and quality assurance to registered HIV test sites in Broward County. This position is under the direct supervision of the Early Intervention Consultant. Serves as a trainer for the HIV/AIDS 500, 501, 501 Update and Train-the -Trainer. Provides HIV/AIDS basics, interactionually
Transmitted Diseases, and communicable disease presentations. Conducts educational sessions to community providers on Florida’s plan to eliminate HIV transmission, Ending the HIV Epidemic and reduce HIV-related deaths.
Provides technical assistance to all DOH, CDC HIV grant funded agencies, and agencies with Memorandums of Agreements (MOA). Participates in assigned outreach activities; and appropriately represents the Florida Department of Health in Broward County. Coordinates appropriate materials for distribution and submits monthly and quarterly reports, as required, by supervisor detailing programmatic activities. Under the direction of the Communicable Disease Director and the Early Intervention Consultant, works with the Contract Management Program to establish, execute, and maintain programmatic MOAs using a designated tracking and notification system.
Creates and maintains a list of MOA and serves at the Department representative to community providers with active MOA. Assists Communicable Disease and HIV Prevention program staff with disseminating prevention program materials, supplies and incentives. Works with HIV/AIDS Program Manager and the Early Intervention Consultant to identify target populations to be reached by selected interventions and program initiatives.
Works alongside Program Staff to assist in the implementation of the Get Pr EPBroward campaign and all the activities spearheaded by the HIV/AIDS Program. Participates in Broward County Prevention Planning council meetings. Participates in quality improvement activities that assist the HIV/AIDS and Viral Hepatitis and communicable disease section division of the Florida Department of Health with quality improvement, quality assurance and technical assistance. Performs technical assistance site visits and capacity building opportunities to County Health Department sites, registered test sites in Broward County and the community to promote routine HIV testing in healthcare settings by increasing the knowledge and awareness of the scope of the HIV epidemic in Florida, HIV testing guidelines, legal issues, and resources for third-party billing and reimbursement.
Analyzes HIV testing site data and prevention program activities to create and provide reports detailing HIV testing and prevention program activities. Submits monthly and quarterly reports, as required, by supervisor; and County Health Department Monthly Service Delivery report to the Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant Team by the 5th of the month following service delivery.
Attends Statewide Prevention Training Consultant meetings and participate in all PTC workgroups; and Attend meetings, in-service trainings, and conferences as requested and as required. Assist in the planning, coordination and evaluation of testing related events including National HIV Testing Day, National Hepatitis Testing Day, World AIDS Days, and National days of observance. Collaborates with Program Staff and team members of the Communicable Disease Division. Represents the Florida Department of Health in Broward County at all meetings and trainings assigned to attend.
Maintains current input of EARS. Participates in all Disaster Preparedness activities as directed. Coordinates with health and social services according to need. Perform other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
Have experience in the HIV/AIDS field or health related field. Have experience providing trainings and/or presentations. Have experience in developing and preparing reports, and/or presentations. Have a valid driver license: and a willingness to drive a county vehicle and recreational vehicle. Available to work nights and weekends as required by program needs. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Have Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Health Education, Community, or Public Health; or a High School Diploma and a minimum of three (3 )years in the public health field?
Have valid HIV/AIDS 501 Certification. Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the HIV/AIDS field or health related field. Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing trainings and/or presentations. Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in developing and preparing reports, and/or presentations.
