Selected by the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re-establish U. S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funding to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. Review bat calls in bat acoustic analysis software, such as Kaleidoscope, Analook, Ana Bat Insight, and Sono Bat. Perform bat statistic summaries using run scripts in R. Assist in proposal writing and report writing for bat-specific studies. Job Requirements Requirements: The primary qualifications sought for the position include: Experience designing and implementing wildlife field studies, specifically for bats. Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants must be willing and able to travel (overnight and potentially for extended periods). At least a bachelor's degree in biology or a different natural resource-related field and experience working with bats (master's degree preferred). Familiarity with the current auto identification softwares (ideally Sono Bat, Kaleidoscope, and Titley software), and current acoustic detectors is required. Experience with both deploying and troubleshooting bat acoustic equipment. Familiar with state or federal permitting processes, especially in relation to bat surveys preferred but not required. Preference will be given to those who hold a permit from the USFWS allowing the capture and handling of threatened and endangered bat species.
Preference will be given to biologists who have handled and have the ability to distinguish western Myotid species in-hand.
