Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Campus Services, the Postal and Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of duties both in the mailroom and the warehouse area.

As a member of the Postal and Warehouse team, you will be cross-trained for all jobs in the Processing Center and Campus Post Office. The hours for this full-time, non-exempt position are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during normal office hours. The employee must be flexible this may include early morning, evening and weekends

on occasion to meet departmental needs. Responsibilities include: Daily processing of incoming and outgoing mail.

Responsible for shipping and receiving of goods, Coordinating all dorm furniture issues with Residential Life and Facilities, and dorm mattress replacement. Oversee all duties in warehouse i. e. receiving, deliveries, picking and packing of supply orders, in house supply requisitions and furniture storage. Develop monthly postal reports for Financial Services. Provide products to customers in an efficient and timely manner; arrange for packaging, transportation, and/or delivery of goods. Process all outgoing, incoming, and campus mail on a daily basis, following applicable regulations.

Handle incoming and outgoing packages. Prepare Fed Ex, UPS for pick up. Maintain accounting and database information. Conducts periodic or special inventory audits and reconciles physical counts. Keep updated with all postal rules and regulations. Update faculty & staff about postal regulations and necessary procedures and methods of reducing costs, both domestic and international and bulk mailing. Work with Postmaster on issues related to mail operations. Act as a backup for Campus Post Office. Supervision of Student Workers on a daily basis. Additional duties as assigned Experience and Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: One to two years of experience working in a mail center with some knowledge of U.

S. Postal Regulations. Two (2) years of relevant secretarial/clerical experience; or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. An Associate’s Degree in business or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience may be substituted. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Ability to handle and maintain material, understanding that all University information should only be disclosed to others who have a need to know, for legitimate business reasons.

Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and external constituents. Demonstrated ability to develop reports and action plans. Ability to perform basic research to assist with preparing reports and make recommendations for improvements. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word and Excel, as well as the ability to learn new computer software applications as required). Ability to merge, edit, and manipulate data on a computer to generate reports.

Ability to lift various material and packages up to 25 pounds on a daily basis and up to 70 pounds occasionally. Must possess a valid U. S. Driver’s License.
